You will learn how to make use of artificial intelligence, among other techniques, to tackle various security challenges. The focus is on applying these tools as part of a broader security strategy while understanding both their benefits and risks. The programme provides you with a solid foundation in critical thinking, enabling you to choose the most suitable technological solutions.
AI is used in cyber security to enhance systems like packet filters and intrusion detectors, as well as to identify threats such as phishing and deepfakes. Machine learning and deep learning help detect manmade and AI-generated threats and automate response actions. AI is also integrated into risk analysis tools, giving organizations better protection against digital threats.
The digitalization of society makes everything from health services to power grids vulnerable to attack. Cybercrime, data breaches, and digital threats are on the rise, and the need for experts who can protect systems and data has never been greater.

The education combines fundamental computer science with specialised knowledge in cyber security and elective courses. The curriculum includes topics such as hardware and network security, operating systems, and penetration testing.
In the first year, you will build a strong technical foundation and develop research and collaboration skills. In the second year, you will delve deeper into information security, focusing on penetration testing and network security. Here, you will benefit from the invaluable industry experience of our lecturers, who bring real-world examples and engaging stories to the teaching.
The third year concludes with a bachelor project, where you apply your expertise to innovative systems. Electives provide additional competence, aiming to prepare you for current and future technological challenges.

There are some fundamental differences between the different study modes at Noroff University College (NUC) in relation to hardware and software.
As an Online student, you are responsible for purchasing the required equipment and installing your software. You are also responsible for its maintenance.
As an OnlinePLUS student you will have access to some equipment and resources on your study location, however the equipment you purchase for yourself is your own responsibility and you are responsible for its maintenance.
As a student on Campus Kristiansand, you are provided the required equipment necessary to complete your studies. In addition, you will have access to specialised equipment and tools used within the field of study.

Noroff has ongoing admissions, and applications are processed in the order they are received. The earlier you apply, the earlier you can secure a study place.
To qualify for the program you must have general study competence. It is also possible to apply based on recognized prior learning.
In addition there is a special requirement of Math R1, or S1 and S2, or international equivalent. Other documented knowledge or education can be accepted as equivalent.
