This programme is fully centred around artificial intelligence and teaches you how modern AI systems are built, trained, deployed, and maintained. You will work hands-on with machine learning models, deep learning, natural language processing, and generative techniques. Students learn how to prepare data, design pipelines, evaluate model performance, and deploy models to cloud platforms.
The programme also introduces responsible AI practices, ensuring you can create solutions that are ethical, transparent, and aligned with new regulations. With practical projects and industry-relevant tools, you gain the competence needed to apply AI directly in real-world digital products.
Artificial intelligence now powers everything from recommendation engines and predictive analytics to chatbots, automation tools, and intelligent decision systems. Companies need professionals who understand not only how AI works, but also how to apply it to real problems.
This programme is designed for students who want to build practical AI and machine learning solutions, combining programming, data science, model development, and cloud-based deployment. You learn the full workflow: defining problems, preparing data, training models, evaluating results, and deploying your work into production. With AI knowledge becoming essential across every industry, this programme equips you with highly employable skills and a strong portfolio that opens doors to a wide range of technology-driven careers.
The first year of this two-year programme is identical to the one-year programme Applied Machine Learning. However, you can apply directly to this two-year programme and secure your place for two years.

To qualify for the program, you must have general study competence or vocational education with a professional certificate. It is also possible to apply based on recognized prior learning.

All our study programs are approved for loans and grants from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). You can apply to the Loan Fund for basic support (loan and grant; NOK 166.859) and tuition fees (NOK 79,432).
