Artificial intelligence plays an increasingly critical role in modern cybercrime investigation and response. By automating repetitive tasks such as log analysis and intrusion detection, AI helps identify threats within vast data sets more swiftly and accurately.
During this programme, you will learn how AI-powered tools assist forensic teams in detecting anomalies, gathering evidence, and mapping digital attack patterns. In addition, you’ll explore the ethical and legal considerations of deploying AI in investigations. By the end of the course, you will understand how AI’s advanced analytics enhance efficiency, facilitate rapid threat mitigation, and support well-structured cybercrime case management.

Studying Cybercrime Investigation and Response equips you with a unique skill set that blends technical expertise with investigative thinking. You’ll learn how to collect and analyse digital evidence, manage security incidents, and preserve data integrity, all while respecting legal frameworks and ethical standards. It’s a specialised field that addresses one of the most urgent challenges in today’s interconnected world.
This one-year programme offers a practical, hands-on introduction to digital forensics, covering essential topics such as network security, cryptography, and operating systems. Graduates will gain foundational knowledge of digital forensics, including how to collect, preserve, and analyse evidence in a legally sound manner. You will learn incident response methodologies for detecting and mitigating cyber threats, ensuring data integrity and proper chain of custody. In addition, you will develop legal and ethical awareness, adeptly applying forensic techniques within responsible investigative frameworks. Critical skills such as problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and effective communication will be honed, enabling you to present complex digital findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Overall, you’ll be prepared for entry-level roles or further specialised study in cybercrime investigation.

This one-year programme provides a strong foundation in the field or serves as a valuable addition to a student’s academic journey. While it can be integrated into the Bachelor' Degree in Digital Forensics and Incident Response, it does not directly replace the first year, as it includes courses from multiple academic levels. Students earn ECTS credits.

There are some fundamental differences between the different study modes at Noroff University College (NUC) in relation to hardware and software.
As an Online student, you are responsible for purchasing the required equipment and installing your software. You are also responsible for its maintenance.
As an OnlinePLUS student you will have access to some equipment and resources on your study location, however the equipment you purchase for yourself is your own responsibility and you are responsible for its maintenance.
As a student on Campus Kristiansand, you are provided the required equipment necessary to complete your studies. In addition, you will have access to specialised equipment and tools used within the field of study.

Noroff has ongoing admissions, and applications are processed in the order they are received. The earlier you apply, the earlier you can secure a study place.
To qualify for the program you must have general study competence. It is also possible to apply based on recognized prior learning.
In addition there is a special requirement of Math R1, or S1 and S2, or international equivalent. Other documented knowledge or education can be accepted as equivalent.

All our study programs are approved for loans and grants from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). You can apply to the Loan Fund for basic support (loan and grant; NOK 166.859) and tuition fees (NOK 79,432).
As an adult student, you can receive loans and grants from the State Educational Loan Fund. This also applies if you work while studying.
As a main rule, you must be a Norwegian citizen to receive support from the Norwegian State Educational Fund. However, foreign citizens may also be entitled to financial support. Check here to see if you are eligible.
